The neighbourhood is quiet, with very little traffic and a serenity that we appreciate.
All our neighbours are quiet and friendly and have not caused us any problems.
You can choose to walk on flat areas or hills and all the time the view is spectacular. The view! It really is stunning to sit out on the back patio and enjoy the mountains, trees and glimpses of Stanley Park and the inlet. We challenge you to find an area anywhere in Vancouver that has such a great view.
If you like mall shopping, Brentwood Mall is not far away (Willingdon and Lougheed) but if you like shopping in smaller specialty shops, Hastings- between Boundary and Willingdon- has lots to offer. We have quite a few favourites!
When we first moved in we were not sure about the building across the street, but all the tenants are over age 55 with the result that they are quiet and very few have cars. The large old home beside it is empty and is a heritage site that is used for special events now and again including an annual Christmas show that is always fun to attend.
The house size is deceptive. When we first saw it from the outside we thought- 2400 square feet? Really? But when you walk through it, you can sense its charm and appeal and size. There are lots of neat spaces for all kinds of things and the large sun room at the back of the ground floor has been great for storage and artistic endeavours.
We have taken a lot of pride in this home and have cared for it well. The only reason we want to sell is because we have reached a stage in life where we want to downsize. We will definitely miss living in a neighbourhood that is one of the best kept secrets in Vancouver!
